3D ARTIST

ABOUT ME
In my current employment as a Catalogue Developer, I am required to create and animate 3D models of mainly bathroom and kitchen appliances in 3D Studio Max. These are used by commercial companies for visualisation, advertising, VR and AR applications. Each item is created from briefs provided by the client. These include dimensions as well as a visual description. As a Logicom employee, I have received Virtual Worlds software training, this allows me to interact with modelled items using a virtual setting.
For the 2020 KBB Conference, I volunteered to help present an eco-friendly kitchen. Working to a given brief my task was to model different appliances including an oven, dishwasher and draw-step. Once they were ready, the room was transferred into Virtual Worlds and tested for interaction in Unity. At the conference, members of the public and company representatives were invited to ‘use’ the kitchen with a VR headset. I enjoy meeting new challenges and developing my skills as an artist.
I am a hard-working friendly individual who can work within a range of environments; ensuring that all my work is done to the best of my ability and meets strict deadlines. I consider myself dedicated and confident, with a good sense of humour, building great relationships with the people around me.
I believe I have demonstrated that I meet the requirements of the person specification, and would be very pleased to discuss this at interview.
I am also an Aunthor. You can check out my author page here:
In 2012 I graduated from Teesside University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Game Art (Character). As part of the course, I gained software experience in 3D Studio Max, Mudbox, UDK, Unreal Engine and mocap; project management, company management and budgeting. Using these skills, I created a variety of 3D visuals both independently and as a team, as well as documentation for a Games Company project.
I have designed characters and environments in 3D Studio Max using UV unwrapping textures, experimenting with lighting effects and animating characters with motion capture. I have edited animations, sound effects and music using Adobe Premier. For my final dissertation I designed a completely new idea for a freestyle ice-skating game; characters, environment and game design document, with fully rendered visualisations, showing how the game would look.
I began working as an Assistant Draughtsman and 3D Designer at TR2 for Theatre Royal Plymouth helping the Lead Draughtsmen. This mainly involved using AutoCAD to provide construction drawings for the carpentry, metalwork and CNC departments. I have also been trained to operate a format 4 CNC machine. As a result, I learnt to use Aspire software and went on to instruct others in its use. Whilst at Plymouth I have been involved in a lot of different and unique projects such as scenic floors for Mary Poppins in Japan and BIG.
Occasionally I would be working on 3D visualisations. For example, the designers of The Full Monty wanted to see how the set would move, so I gave them a 3-minute animation. Also, the chief executive of the theatre asked me to create exterior still images and animations of a 7m bronze statue standing outside of the theatre, to assist with the positioning. These visuals were shown in a local newspaper.
